A reporter friend tells me that "sources" say La Barbie died in the shootout in Taxco, Guerrero. I've read in a couple of papers that the Texan, born Edgar Valdes Villareal, was believed to be present at the shootout that left 15 narcos dead, but no confirmation of his death or arrest.
If true (and I can't vouch for my friend's "sources") this is obviously big news.
